This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee the engineering team tasked with developing and expanding DeepHealth’s platform and products.
• Formulate the technical strategy, architectural decisions, engineering vision, technical roadmap, and platform strategy.
• Guide the architecture and design for intricate distributed systems, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
• Set engineering standards, processes, best practices, and operational excellence.
• Manage engineering delivery, system uptime, and technical debt.
• Collaborate with Product Management to implement the product roadmap and convert business requirements into engineering plans.
• Propel agile delivery and ensure high-quality releases that comply with regulatory and compliance standards.
• Work alongside Clinical, Data Science, Design, Product, Operations, Commercial, and executive leadership teams.
• Establish engineering KPIs and OKRs while effectively communicating technical concepts to senior stakeholders and the Board.
• Promote innovation in tooling, automation, and the adoption of AI/ML.
• Recruit, retain, develop, supervise, coach, and assess engineering talent across various disciplines.
• Define team structures, roles, career ladders, performance frameworks, and onboarding programs.
• Allocate and prioritize workloads, track progress, adjust resources, and manage deadlines.
• Conduct performance reviews, offer feedback and development plans, and implement improvement strategies when necessary.
• Encourage technical excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and a positive work atmosphere.
• Assess emerging technologies and make build-versus-buy decisions.
• Contribute to the company's strategy, culture, and executive decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is required.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership positions.
• Ideally experienced in SaaS, health tech, or regulated industries.
• Proven history of building and scaling distributed software systems and high-performing engineering teams.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure; microservices; APIs; and contemporary DevOps/CI-CD practices.
• Capability to engage in code and architecture reviews, as well as executive-level roadmap discussions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical mindset leveraging engineering metrics, system performance data, and business outcomes.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous setting.
• Excellent program management abilities and the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience with platforms such as GitHub, Jira, PagerDuty, Datadog, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with working in HIPAA-compliant environments.
• Knowledge of HL7 and FHIR is an advantage.
• Ability to adhere to employment laws, company policies, data privacy, compliance, safety, and confidentiality standards.
• Regular attendance and punctuality as per DeepHealth guidelines.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
• Capability to meet the stated physical demands and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
