This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Lead the engineering strategy and technical implementation for the healthcare interoperability portfolio.
• Develop technology roadmaps, architectural standards, and development methodologies.
• Supervise the complete software development lifecycle for a significant API solution along with various interoperability products and platforms.
• Recruit, mentor, coach, and retain engineering managers and individual contributors.
• Establish the engineering operational model, covering resource planning, prioritization, capacity management, delivery governance, risk management, and support processes.
• Ensure software quality, security, and regulatory compliance within healthcare technology.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering leadership, Customer Support leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Define and track metrics for team outcomes, delivery health, organizational maturity, and business impact.
• Propel self-service interoperability tools, enhance developer experience, and advocate for AI-native engineering practices.
• Define and refine support policies, procedures, and escalation processes across U.S. and India time zones.
• Perform additional duties that support the overall objectives of the role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in engineering or technical management roles specifically within Healthcare IT.
• Background in the healthcare IT industry, with an understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience in multi-team planning and coordination utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework or a similar operational model.
• Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or other agile delivery methodologies.
• Proven experience managing multiple teams across various technology stacks and deployment models.
• Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary qualifications.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle principles, engineering delivery models, and modern software engineering practices, including AI-enabled and AI-native approaches.
• Knowledge of software quality, security, and compliance practices in a healthcare technology setting.
• Proficiency in programming languages, tools, and technologies typically used in web application development.
• Familiarity with APIs, event-driven architectures, shared services platforms, and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of cloud environments, SaaS delivery models, and software platform economics.
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability concepts, industry standards, and regulatory considerations.
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and scaled agile practices.
• Knowledge of performance management, team development, organizational maturity, and operational model design.
• Skills in leadership and people management, encompassing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and team development.
• Proficient in strategic planning, prioritization, and execution within a matrixed organization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with senior leaders, technical peers, product partners, and distributed teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Competent in project and program management within software development delivery.
• Skilled in influencing cross-functional stakeholders and fostering alignment across multiple teams.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
• Capable of leading high-performing engineering teams while managing multiple priorities across concurrent development efforts.
• Adept at driving technical strategy while balancing delivery, quality, security, and regulatory obligations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a complex, matrixed environment with teams located in the U.S. and India.
• Capability to assess team maturity and devise plans to enhance capability and performance.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Product, Enterprise Architecture, and other functions.
