Director, SAP Application Development – Innovation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Integrate both software and hardware frameworks, systems, and product design functions.

• Design the foundational architecture for product offerings.

• Assess design outcomes against technical objectives.

• Prepare and present reports on project outcomes and recommendations.

• Oversee technical SAP teams during intricate system development and deployment.

• Provide solutions involving artificial intelligence, application development, and integration.

• Re-engineer, transform, and uphold custom SAP SOH workloads on S/4 and BTP.

• Analyze existing custom workloads and create frameworks for migrating objects towards a clean core.

• Lead the technical vision for SAP, applying best practices to enhance business value.

• Streamline complex processes and minimize total cost of ownership.

• Assess business requirements and architect integrated SAP solutions.

• Advise product and business teams on SAP products and tools.

• Direct technical architecture analysis, research, design, and development of SAP functionalities and integrations.

• Guide engineering teams in solution development, configuration, and implementation.

• Ensure technical integrity, promote the reuse of common technical elements, and prevent duplicated efforts.

• Engage in defining the product roadmap and strategy.

• Collaborate with technical teams on solution compatibility and roadmaps.

• Ensure adherence to deadlines and successful delivery of outcomes.

• Mentor, coach, and train engineers and consultants.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field (or foreign equivalent).

• 12 years of experience in the offered position or a related field with a focus on SAP integration/development.

• Proven experience in consulting on over eight SAP ECC or S/4 HANA implementation projects.

• 12 years of experience with various SAP modules and integration development in large-scale SAP ECC and SAP S/4 transformations.

• 12 years of SAP technical and functional experience with SAP products and solution offerings.

• 10 years of in-depth technical experience in SAP ECC application engineering using ABAP-based frameworks, including BADI, ALE IDOC, Smartforms, and ALV.

• 10 years of experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement with comprehensive information systems.

• 8 years of experience utilizing released BAPIs or APIs, including creating wrappers where standard BAPIs are not available.

• 8 years of experience with interfaces, Web Services, Java connectors, and REST APIs communicating with non-SAP applications.

• 8 years of experience with SAP ECC to S/4 HANA transformation projects.

• 7 years of in-depth technical experience in SAP SOH and/or S/4 HANA application engineering using the S/4 HANA extensibility model.

• 7 years of experience with in-app extensions, key-user and in-app frameworks, and the RAP model.

• 7 years of experience with side-by-side extensions in BTP using the CAP model.

• 5 years of experience in developing SAP Fiori applications.

• 4 years of experience with Clean Core principles for S/4 HANA.

• 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud applications using SAP BTP, BAS, SAP Build, Workzone, and Integration Suite.

• Up to 10% domestic travel may be required.
