This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Director of Resource and Operations acts as a reliable strategic partner to the Specialty Services Business Unit (BU) Leader, empowering them to achieve their maximum level of impact.
• This position serves as the central link within the business unit – converting leadership’s vision into prioritized, actionable initiatives and ensuring that strategic commitments are fulfilled.
• Collaborate as a thought partner with the BU Leader – assisting in framing critical decisions, evaluating strategic options, and formulating views on division priorities.
• Take ownership of the prioritization and monitoring of strategic initiatives for business unit leadership, proactively recognizing interdependencies, highlighting risks, and driving initiatives to successful completion.
• Work alongside the BU Lead and practice MDs on talent-related priorities, which include onboarding and the integration of new team members, in partnership with HR and team leads; keep the BU lead informed about significant personnel matters across the division.
• Serve as a bridge between BU leadership and firm-wide functions (including the CRO, CPO, and other Business Unit Leads), ensuring effective communication, alignment, and execution of cross-functional priorities.
• Create and manage dashboards and reporting tools that offer division leadership timely insights into key performance indicators, staffing utilization, capacity, pipeline, and other operational metrics relevant to strategic decision-making.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate internal business unit meetings, which includes developing agendas, preparing materials, and ensuring follow-through on action items.
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and strategic memos to assist leadership in internal and external engagements, ensuring division leaders are well-equipped and that key messages are communicated effectively.
• Identify and spearhead operational improvement initiatives that enhance the business unit's effectiveness, scalability, and efficiency, collaborating with team leaders to transition from concept to implementation.
• Assist in workforce planning and resourcing strategies for the BU in collaboration with team leads, encompassing staffing requirement forecasting and project staffing assignments based on business volume, project timelines, and utilization trends.
• Manage special projects and ad hoc strategic initiatives assigned by the BU Lead, coordinating resources and stakeholders to achieve results within established timelines.
• Ensure adherence to internal VMG Health policies and procedures while supporting the division in upholding high standards of integrity, responsiveness, and excellence in all operational activities.
• Cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the division by helping to set clear goals, tracking progress against strategic objectives, and sharing outcomes with leadership and the broader team.
• Build strong working relationships with practice MDs, Directors, and other team members. Support cross-functional initiatives that improve operational effectiveness and collaboration.
• Utilize technology and automation to enhance data integrity and minimize administrative workload. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline; experience in healthcare, professional services, or advisory environments is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in a strategic, advisory, or chief of staff role, ideally within a professional services, healthcare, or consulting context.
• Proven track record of supporting senior leaders in executing strategic priorities, managing intricate projects, and driving organizational initiatives from conception to completion.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to distill complex information into clear, concise materials for senior leadership audiences.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with the capacity to link data and insights to business priorities and leadership decision-making.
• High emotional intelligence and effective interpersonal skills, with the capability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, peers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing competing priorities and driving multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, with strong ownership and follow-through.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel); familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) and project management platforms is a bonus.
