This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of Ignite’s Positioning and Message Architecture.
• Create messaging tailored to segments and personas for SMB and MML buyers and customers, ensuring that this messaging is actively utilized rather than merely documented.
• Simplify product complexities into unique value propositions that Sales can leverage, prospects can grasp, and customers find credible.
• Develop and oversee a structured launch process that enables Ignite to swiftly manage minor releases while ensuring full organizational preparedness for significant ones.
• Create a consistent customer communications schedule aligned with roadmap milestones and customer requirements, including product updates, adoption resources, and best-practice education.
• Establish and maintain a systematic competitive intelligence capability that is proactive rather than reactive.
• Incorporate customer, market, and competitive insights into roadmap discussions with sufficient rigor and detail to influence prioritization.
• Lead the Ignite PMM Team as a player-coach, setting a high standard for quality in both thinking and output.
• Over 12 years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, with significant responsibility for positioning and go-to-market strategies for complex products or multi-audience platforms.
• Proven ability to build positioning from scratch—constructing foundational market logic rather than merely refreshing or extending existing narratives.
• Experience in SLG environments where Sales is a primary go-to-market strategy, and the relationship between PMM, Sales, and CS is crucial for success.
• A history of developing credible and influential relationships with Product leadership; not just alignment, but a true strategic partnership.
• Strong instincts for competitive intelligence: able to translate market signals into actionable positioning and enablement rather than just producing competitive analyses.
• Experience in people leadership, with a clear perspective on what excellent PMM entails and the coaching ability to guide a team toward that standard.
• High standards for written communication and executive storytelling; skilled at simplifying complex product concepts into narratives that resonate.
• Proficient in using AI as a tool for thinking and research enhancement, not just for content creation.
• Capable of leveraging AI to validate positioning, synthesize market signals, and accelerate processes without compromising thought quality.
• Analytical mindset: comfortable with go-to-market performance data, customer insights, and win-loss analysis, using this information to inform better strategic decisions.
• Ability to function as both a strategic leader and a hands-on builder in an environment that demands both simultaneously.
