This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of the go-to-market strategy for 1Password's primary product suite: Enterprise Password Manager, SaaS Manager, and Device Trust.
• Lead a team of product marketers focused on core products.
• Establish clear expectations, manage performance proactively, and cultivate a team that produces high-quality work and provides candid feedback.
• Mentor each Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to enhance their output: clearer thought processes, improved writing, and greater effectiveness with stakeholders.
• Oversee messaging, positioning, and launch strategies for EPM, SaaS Manager, and Device Trust.
• Shape the market narrative that redefines 1Password’s core products in the context of AI and automation.
• Deliver clear and confident responses to Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Engineers (SEs) regarding 1Password’s competitive advantages.
• Influence product strategy by representing market insights to the Product team: provide customer evidence, analyst insights, competitive intelligence, and field feedback.
• Manage critical deliverables such as messaging, positioning, and launch strategies.
• Over 10 years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, particularly in identity security, credentials management, or access governance.
• Hands-on experience in positioning AI-related or AI-driven security solutions.
• A solid understanding of how identity security must evolve to cater to developers and AI creators.
• Capable of marketing technically intricate products to diverse audiences — IT leaders, security engineers, CISOs — while maintaining message clarity.
• Proven success in competitive markets where victory necessitated displacing incumbents or redefining a category, rather than merely occupying one.
• Comprehension of how AI agents are transforming identity and access security demands.
• Familiarity with developer toolchains — IDEs, GitHub Actions, CI/CD platforms — and the accompanying secrets management practices.
• Utilize AI to enhance speed, not to reduce thoughtfulness. You discern what tasks to delegate and what to retain, and can differentiate quality output from that needing refinement.
• Aspiring for AI to free up time for the uniquely human aspects of product marketing: strategy, judgment, and storytelling.
• Take ownership of your ideas, regardless of their origin. Enter discussions with recommendations that you can defend. Candidates who create content but lack the rationale behind it will not thrive here.
• Write for varied audiences without compromising the message. A CISO and a platform engineer have different motivations for reading the same document — you know how to address both effectively.
• Strong narrative instincts: start with the problem, lead to the solution, and leave the reader with the impression that the product is tailored for their needs.
• You have crafted category narratives, not merely contributed to them.
• At least 3 years of direct management experience with PMMs, showcasing clear examples of individuals you have developed and advanced.
• You understand how to enhance a PMM's performance: clearer thinking, stronger writing, and more impactful presence in discussions.
• You have a successful track record in hiring. You recognize what excellence looks like at each level and work to achieve it.
• Provide your team with clarity on priorities, ownership, and the significance of their contributions.
