This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +33 more states.
• Define and oversee the long-term product strategy for Kin's policy platform and customer experience, transforming overarching business objectives into a structured, sequential roadmap.
• Lead, nurture, and recruit a team of product managers; elevate the standards of craftsmanship, analytical precision, and collaborative efforts across the group.
• Make challenging prioritization decisions between foundational platform initiatives (where the customer is internal and feedback is gradual) and customer-oriented product efforts (where feedback is quicker and the stakes are clearer).
• Collaborate with the engineering lead to formulate the platform's API strategy and configuration model, ensuring Kin's capability to launch new products and adapt to regulatory shifts.
• Advance the Home Hub from its current structure to a digital hub for customers to manage their existing products and a marketplace to offer new ones.
• Work alongside Engineering, Design, Actuarial, Underwriting, Finance, and Legal to facilitate swift and low-friction cross-functional coordination on collaborative tasks.
• Establish success metrics for your area, maintain visibility across the organization, and utilize them to refine roadmap decisions over time.
• Collaborate with engineering and data science leaders to embed AI-native workflows, automation, and intelligence capabilities into both platform and customer interactions.
• 12+ years of professional experience, including at least 8 years in software product management and at least 3 years in managing and developing PM teams.
• Proven experience in owning both platform/infrastructure products and consumer-facing products; able to manage both simultaneously without bias towards one.
• Experience with large-scale platform modernization or re-platforming, including the ability to sequence migrations without disrupting dependent teams.
• Sufficient technical fluency to engage in architecture and data model discussions, understanding the downstream impacts of platform decisions on reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
• Background in Fintech, Insurtech, or financial services where pricing logic, regulatory constraints, and customer trust were concurrent challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to develop PM talent in addition to delivering outstanding products personally.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills tailored for both technical and executive audiences.
