Director, Product Engineering – AI POD Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for Outcomes, not just Delivery.

• Champion the adoption, impact, and success of the AI pillar.

• Define and steer the product strategy and roadmap in line with DTEX’s platform vision.

• Convert ambiguous, emerging challenges into a clear product direction and execution plan.

• Operate a high-velocity POD model incorporating engineering, product, design, and domain specialists.

• Drive execution cadence, oversee release planning, and ensure milestone delivery.

• Eliminate dependencies to allow the team to ship quickly and predictably.

• Define and refine the AI architecture for the pillar (e.g., behavioral analytics, anomaly detection, LLM-driven reasoning, signal fusion).

• Make decisions regarding build vs. leverage vs. partner for models, infrastructure, and data pipelines.

• Ensure systems are production-grade—observable, explainable, and privacy-preserving.

• Quickly iterate from data to insight, then to model and product capability.

• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to launch new capabilities in the market.

• Develop points of view, customer narratives, and strategies for early adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional product and engineering teams to achieve high-impact outcomes.

• Strong technical expertise with the ability to influence architecture-level decisions.

• Experience in building or deploying production AI/ML systems (e.g., behavioral models, anomaly detection, LLM-based systems, or data-driven platforms).

• Ability to thrive in high-ambiguity, rapidly changing technical environments.

• Proven application of AI to enhance both product capabilities and development workflows.

• Excellent communication and executive alignment skills.

• Experience in one or more areas: AI security or model risk, behavioral analytics/UEBA, data protection or modern DLP systems.
