Director, Procurement – Southeast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete procurement process across a multi-site market consisting of 50 to 100 facilities.

• Convert enterprise initiatives into repeatable, actionable processes suitable for the field.

• Drive procurement and supply chain performance enhancement initiatives at the market level.

• Collaborate with MCFOs and MCSOs to synchronize procurement strategies with EBITDA objectives and service line growth priorities.

• Ensure that facilities comply with procurement standards, GPO requirements, preferred vendor agreements, and capital approval protocols.

• Promote the use of standardized supply and capital templates.

• Act as the market escalation point for issues related to new technologies, vendor performance, pricing variances, and contract execution.

• Utilize enterprise scorecard metrics to motivate actions, uphold accountability, and initiate interventions.

• Conduct performance reviews for materials management at both market and facility levels.

• Encourage ongoing performance and process improvements.

• Manage procurement activities for new developments, acquisitions, and facility expansions.

• Collaborate with Development, Clinical Operations, Facilities, and Market Leadership to enhance procurement training and eliminate execution obstacles.

• Integrate new facilities into USPI procurement systems, contracts, and operational standards.

• Provide leadership and oversight to Materials Managers and their teams.

• Exercise indirect leadership over more than 100 Materials Management FTEs.

• Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and development of Materials Management personnel.

• Establish operating rhythms, communication patterns, and procurement governance frameworks.

• Act as a liaison between Tenet/USPI Corporate Procurement, market leadership, and facility operators.

• Report progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time, both regionally and nationally, as business needs dictate.

• A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be conducted on the finalists.

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive operations leadership experience, ideally within healthcare or multi-site settings.

• Proven experience leading by influence across large, indirect teams and intricate reporting structures.

• Experience collaborating with senior operational and financial leaders, including CFOs, strategy professionals, and operations teams.

• Strong analytical skills and financial insight, with the ability to convert data into actionable strategies.

• Demonstrated proficiency in enforcing standards, promoting accountability, and driving change in complex organizations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MMIS platforms.

• Availability to work outside of standard business hours as needed to support facility operations, implementations, conversions, escalations, and critical supply issues.

• Proven track record of managing multiple facilities and fostering the adoption of systemwide sourcing, standardization, and cost-reduction strategies.

• Comfortable operating in a highly matrixed organization, balancing enterprise objectives with local facility requirements.

• Experience in leading change management initiatives and ensuring stakeholder accountability for implementation and outcomes.
