Director, Prediction and ML Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise and integrate the Prediction and Motion Planning teams that utilize machine learning.

• Create a comprehensive technical roadmap aimed at developing a unified Large Driving Model for simultaneous prediction and planning.

• Outline the technical strategy for advancing cutting-edge imitation learning and reinforcement learning methodologies.

• Guide, mentor, and expand various sub-teams composed of machine learning engineers and researchers.

• Adopt sustainable engineering practices that enhance psychological safety and promote high technical velocity.

• Expected to present research at conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, and Neurips.

• Collaborate closely with teams in Perception, Infrastructure, and Systems Engineering to facilitate integration onto the vehicle platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in leading high-performing engineering teams.

• More than 3 years of experience overseeing multiple sub-teams within the fields of autonomous systems, robotics, or advanced AI organizations.

• Extensive theoretical and practical expertise in applying machine learning to robotic behaviors.

• Advanced knowledge in Imitation Learning and Reinforcement Learning for effective decision-making.

• Strong grasp of the entire lifecycle from research through to vehicle deployment.

• Demonstrated experience in guiding teams toward the development of integrated models rather than separate, sequential pipelines.

• Solid familiarity with multimodal foundational AI models, particularly Vision-Language-Action models (VLAs).

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
