This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Transform organizational priorities into actionable people strategies that foster growth, execution, and impact.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to foresee workforce requirements, pinpoint risks, and develop plans that facilitate business outcomes.
• Ensure that organizational design, roles, and capabilities are in alignment with strategic objectives.
• Direct comprehensive talent strategies encompassing workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention.
• Cultivate a robust internal talent pool through succession planning, leadership development, and career pathway design.
• Enhance managerial skills in coaching, performance management, and team leadership.
• Act as the principal advisor on sensitive and intricate employee relations issues, employing sound judgment and discretion.
• Navigate challenging personnel matters with clarity, fairness, and a focus on organizational health.
• Promote a performance culture rooted in clear expectations, regular feedback, and accountability.
• Supervise performance management processes that are practical, consistent, and aligned with organizational values.
• Assist leaders in addressing underperformance and making difficult decisions as necessary.
• Manage essential HR operations, including HRIS, compensation and benefits management, policies, retirement plans, and compliance.
• Ensure that systems and processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the organization’s people strategy.
• Oversee vendor relationships and continuously enhance the employee experience through streamlined operations.
• Uphold strong compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and nonprofit requirements.
• Actively mitigate risks while steering clear of unnecessary bureaucracy or process burdens.
• Balance legal obligations with practical, people-centered solutions.
• Foster and strengthen organizational culture, ensuring Futuro Health’s mission and values are consistently reflected across performance, collaboration, and employee experience.
• Lead organization-wide engagement initiatives, including All-Hands planning, and serve as a trusted, visible connector for employees regarding culture, connection, and belonging.
• Collaborate with leaders to cultivate high-performing, inclusive teams that enhance engagement, accountability, and long-term talent retention.
• 8–12+ years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, talent, or people operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leading HR role within an organization.
• Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization of similar size and complexity (approximately 100–200 employees preferred), demonstrating the ability to balance mission, growth, and operational rigor.
• Proven success in implementing and leading people strategy in a multi-state, fully remote environment while encouraging connection, engagement, and shared accountability.
• Capability to align people strategies with organizational objectives, utilizing data, insights, and thoughtful judgment to achieve measurable outcomes while considering the human impact of decisions.
• Strong judgment and experience navigating complex employee relations and organizational challenges, bringing empathy, fairness, and discretion to delicate situations.
• Established record of developing talent and leaders, including performance management, leadership coaching, and enhancing managerial capabilities at all levels.
• Experience managing core people operations in a multi-state organization, including HR systems (Paylocity preferred), benefits, retirement plans, compensation programs and benchmarking (Salary.com preferred), performance management, and compliance.
• Experience in payroll processes is a plus.
• Working knowledge of payroll processes, multi-state taxation, and wage and hour compliance to ensure accurate implementation of HR-led compensation and pay changes.
• Exceptional interpersonal and influencing capabilities, with the ability to establish trust, listen attentively, and partner effectively with employees, leaders, and external stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in HRIS and people systems, with the ability to leverage data, analytics, and emerging AI-enabled tools to generate insights and improve effectiveness; working knowledge of Microsoft 365 productivity tools and environment.
• Experience in budget management, including resource allocation and financial stewardship.
