This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the prompt review of Xenon’s products post-approval to facilitate rapid formulary adoption, granting patient access that is comparable to branded products within the relevant categories Xenon competes in.
• Establish and sustain multiple points of contact at strategic payer accounts, including senior executives, to convey the value proposition of Xenon to payers.
• Navigate through payer organizations to cultivate long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and potential influencers, paving the way for Xenon’s innovative product pipeline.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of complex payer organizations and their various wholly-owned subsidiaries that may offer services and programs impacting the Epilepsy class. Monitor these for potential long-term partnership opportunities.
• Prioritize major accounts utilizing data and personal insights.
• Secure rapid access and coverage for all Xenon products, ensuring parity with key competitors in their respective classes.
• Develop strategic business plans tailored to each account.
• Achieve appropriate coverage and formulary positioning in line with Commercial objectives by collaborating with Medical Affairs and Value and Access to ensure effective communication of the value proposition and HEOR data to target audiences.
• Assess contracting opportunities that align with Xenon’s objectives. Lead the contract process from initiation through negotiation and completion. Manage ongoing contracts with quarterly business reviews and evaluate ROI.
• Analyze data (sales trends, competitive landscape by local market) to identify opportunities for pull-through. Collaborate with regional sales directors and sales representatives to tackle access challenges and maximize success through aligned pull-through plans.
• Provide assistance in field training focused on access and reimbursement.
• Relay payer insights back to market access, medical affairs, and patient services as necessary.
• Represent Xenon at key industry conferences (e.g., AMCP, Asembia, PCMA).
• Develop and propose both short- and long-term objectives for the function in line with the overall company strategies and plans.
• Plan and manage budget proposals and approved budgets in accordance with the company’s strategic and operational plans and finance policies.
• Recruit, lead, direct, develop, coach, and evaluate direct reports, if applicable, following the company’s Human Resource policies and practices.
• Adhere to company policies, including the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, ensuring that policies are understood and followed by direct reports, if applicable.
• Some international travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
• At least 10-12 years of market access experience in biotech pharmaceuticals, with a minimum of 5 years working with national accounts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payer/PBM economics, including an understanding of key issues and how they shift in response to the evolving US healthcare landscape.
• Strong understanding of analytics, with the ability to apply analytical insights to enhance account performance and to ask the right questions of analytical resources.
