This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of client outcomes. As the senior representative for the team’s portfolio, you will lead strategic discussions, manage complex campaigns and budgets to achieve outstanding ROI, and directly address high-value accounts and escalations.
• Shape the strategy. Create customized paid search programs, continuously optimize across various platforms, and introduce new tools, trends, and ideas ahead of the market curve.
• Expand the business. Act as the subject-matter expert during pitches, conduct audits for potential clients, identify upselling opportunities within current accounts, and negotiate contracts that align with both client and agency needs.
• Develop the team. Conduct weekly one-on-ones that focus on coaching, engage in performance and career discussions, oversee hiring and onboarding processes, and proactively identify retention risks.
• Manage the metrics. Oversee your department's P&L (including revenue, headcount, tools, and margin), review it monthly with Finance, and have a clear understanding of which accounts are profitable and which are not.
• Enhance operational standards. Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance (QA), anticipate capacity needs before peak times, and present data-backed recommendations (not just updates) to leadership.
• Over 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role, with agency experience being essential.
• Extensive SEM knowledge across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, with advanced, data-driven optimization skills.
• A proven history of client retention, revenue growth, and successful recovery from escalations.
• Financial savvy: you have managed a team P&L and impacted profitability positively.
• Demonstrated leadership of high-performing teams, including those with remote or offshore members.
• Experience with direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands and performance-focused marketing.
• An entrepreneurial mindset: you have initiated new projects within a structured organization.
