This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the complete order-to-cash cycle, which encompasses credit assessments, collections strategy, and billing operations, ensuring precision and promptness in these processes across all revenue streams.
• Establish and enforce credit policies, determine customer credit limits, and manage credit risk exposure across the portfolio utilizing data-driven methodologies.
• Lead and nurture a team of two direct reports, setting clear performance expectations and developing capacity for growth.
• Drive the strategy and execution of collections, including management of aging accounts, resolution of disputes, initiatives for DSO reduction, and escalation protocols for overdue accounts.
• Collaborate with Sales and Revenue Accounting to address billing discrepancies, assist with deal structuring decisions when necessary, and ensure that contract terms are accurately reflected in invoicing.
• Oversee billing operations, which includes generating invoices, applying payments, reconciling accounts, and managing customer communication workflows.
• Develop and maintain reporting that encompasses DSO, aging, risk exposure, bad debt reserves, and the effectiveness of collections.
• Work alongside Accounting and Finance to aid in cash flow forecasting and projections, providing insights into expected collection timelines and aging trends to inform the company's liquidity outlook and operating cash flow reports.
• Manage the SOX control framework for the order-to-cash function, ensuring that all processes and procedures are designed and functioning in compliance with internal controls, documentation is audit-ready, and the team maintains a zero-tolerance policy for control exceptions.
• Act as the primary liaison for audit support related to the function, addressing internal and external audit requests concerning AR, credit, and collections controls.
• Identify and implement enhancements to processes and systems across NetSuite, Salesforce, and other tools to minimize manual effort and improve cycle time.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in credit, collections, billing, or order-to-cash management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Possess a player-coach mentality, where you lead the team while also handling a significant portion of the operational workload yourself.
• Experience in managing AR portfolios with B2B customers across various business lines and channels.
• Proven ability to build and scale credit risk frameworks, including credit scoring, limit-setting, and portfolio monitoring.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and CRM platforms (like Salesforce), with practical experience in optimizing billing and collections workflows.
• An analytical mindset with the capability to convert AR data into actionable insights for CFOs, CROs, and executive leadership.
• Experience working collaboratively with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Revenue Accounting to align on contract terms, payment structures, and policy decisions.
• A successful track record in managing DSO improvement initiatives and achieving measurable reductions in overdue balances.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, public company setting with quarter-end close deadlines and SEC reporting requirements.
• A collaborative, low-ego working style that fosters strong relationships across finance and the broader business, providing respectful direct feedback and enhancing the capabilities of those around you.
• A curiosity about AI and a readiness to engage with it. While expertise is not required, you should have begun exploring tools like Claude or ChatGPT and be eager to continue learning, as we aim to establish an AI-native finance function.
• A BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required; CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.
