Director of Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the monthly supply plan for contract manufacturers and pack-out partners, overseeing the process from demand to purchase orders.

• Cultivate supplier relationships and establish a negotiation strategy that includes pricing tiers, capacity commitments, and quarterly business evaluations.

• Utilize scorecards to monitor delivery performance, yield, quality, and costs.

• Publish and maintain the fully burdened cost per unit; collaborate with Finance to track and minimize this through allocation and procurement strategies.

• Develop and manage demand planning alongside a monthly S&OP cycle in partnership with Finance, Marketing, and Retail teams.

• Design and mitigate risks within the logistics and 3PL network, including routing and freight decisions that impact landed costs.

• Lead and nurture the team while remaining actively involved in model operations.

• Transition planning from spreadsheets to a dedicated system designed for this purpose.

• Report directly to the VP of Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in the CPG supply chain sector.

• A minimum of 3 years managing a function or significant end-to-end scope.

• Proven experience in operating an asset-light contract manufacturing network.

• Skilled in allocating volume among various co-manufacturers or co-packers.

• Experience with minimum order quantities (MOQs) and capacity limits.

• Proficient in managing lengthy lead times.

• Strong history of negotiating supplier agreements directly.

• Experience in managing a cost-per-unit or COGS metric and demonstrating results.

• Familiarity with constructing supply plans in a model, which includes net requirements, safety stock, on-hand inventory, and open purchase orders.

• Experience in running or establishing an S&OP process and securing cross-functional commitment.
