Director of Strategy and Capabilities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and execution of strategic initiatives.

• Anticipate intricate issues, challenges, and opportunities while ensuring alignment with the broader functional strategy.

• Create tactical plans aimed at optimizing resources and assets.

• Establish functional or operational policies and procedures and supervise their implementation.

• Design strategies and assess, evaluate, and structure critical transactions, including partnerships, collaborations, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing projects.

• Develop yearly business plans and propose financial and staffing budgets, business objectives, and project timelines.

• Provide authoritative recommendations regarding technical or professional solutions.

• Identify and convey necessary actions for executing strategies and business plans.

• Lead a mid-sized team, aligning decisions across various perspectives.

• Foster stakeholder engagement and communicate business information and decisions effectively.

• Develop and/or implement components of a strategic planning framework.

• Oversee departmental budget plans.

• Manage and report on performance metrics for a diverse and sizable team.

• Establish performance goals, hold team members accountable, and take corrective measures as required.

• Identify the developmental needs of the team and execute professional development initiatives.

• Provide training or coaching in your area of expertise.

• Travel approximately eight times a year, including occasional trips to Staples, Minnesota.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR a combination of post-secondary education, professional training, and related experience totaling four (4) years.

• Nine (9) years of proven experience in strategic planning, management of strategic initiatives, solution development, P&L management, business development, or similar roles.

• Experience in public speaking and delivering presentations.

• Expertise in budget design and management.

• Background in creating digital strategies.

• Experience in business consulting and strategy work.

• Seven (7) years of demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience.

• Managerial experience is required.

• Ability to plan and manage resources to achieve predetermined goals.

• Must be capable of meeting travel requirements, approximately eight (8) times per year.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to Staples, MN.

• Ability to comply with Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
