This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate in the development and leadership of CLIMA Fund’s strategy aimed at influencing significant climate foundations and high-net-worth philanthropists.
• Identify key institutions and individuals, develop engagement strategies, coordinate relationship management, and monitor strategic objectives.
• Foster relationships with philanthropic influencers, donor networks, philanthropic advisors, and key strategic partners.
• Design, coordinate, and implement donor education initiatives through briefings, publications, webinars, funder events, and conference sessions.
• Assist member organizations in articulating movement-led approaches to potential funders.
• Represent CLIMA in philanthropic environments, conferences, and strategic gatherings.
• Monitor and analyze emerging trends in climate philanthropy.
• Formulate and execute strategies aimed at increasing multi-year, unrestricted funding by 50% by 2028.
• Oversee cultivation plans, reporting timelines, forecasting procedures, and stewardship systems.
• Draft proposals, reports, donor communications, and fundraising materials.
• Identify and nurture new philanthropic relationships.
• Coordinate member intelligence and relationships to capitalize on strategic donor opportunities.
• Facilitate the cross-fund Fundraising Team.
• Maintain development systems, forecasting, and tracking processes.
• Enhance coordination among fundraising, communications, learning, and programmatic functions.
• Support organizational planning efforts related to fundraising and donor engagement.
• Participate in annual CLIMA strategy meetings and monthly team gatherings.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, partnership development, or related fields.
• Proven success in cultivating and stewarding institutional, family, and individual donors.
• Strong knowledge of climate justice, systems change, and movement-led methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of climate philanthropy and related trends.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.
• Capacity to prioritize, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in creating compelling written and digital content.
• Demonstrated success in converting strategic vision into actionable initiatives and guiding concepts from ideation to realization.
• Experience in developing fundraising strategies and donor engagement systems.
• Ability to distill complex ideas into engaging narratives for varied audiences.
• Comfortable representing organizations in high-profile philanthropic settings.
• Project management experience, including overseeing multiple projects and anticipating challenges.
• Experience managing complex initiatives across organizations, networks, or collaborations.
• Strong commitment to justice, equity, and movement-led change.
• Preferred experience in the Climate Justice sector.
• Ability to bridge diverse cultures, viewpoints, and sectors.
• Collaborative leadership style with comfort in working across organizational boundaries.
• Passion for evolving philanthropy to support systemic change.
• Availability to work approximately 3 hours between 8 AM and 12 PM PST at least four days a week.
• Salary: $123,000.
• Flexible / Remote position.
• Approximately 5–8 trips per year, both domestically and internationally.
