
Director of SBA Lending – Executive Credit Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide executive oversight and strategic guidance for SBA lending as a fundamental growth platform.
• Direct and oversee the ongoing operational activities of the SBA lending department, ensuring adherence to government regulations (SOPs).
• Develop and spearhead strategic planning initiatives and operations that foster growth and mitigate risk while prioritizing customer service.
• Approve, decline, and review loan underwriting in accordance with Bank Credit Policy and government guaranty requirements.
• Manage the SBA loan secondary market sales process to guarantee that all eligible SBA loans are bid on and sold, should the bank choose to participate in loan sales.
• Act as an Executive Member of the Credit Committee.
• Review credit submissions for approval and provide recommendations for credit approvals to the executive credit team and the Board.
• Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of government program products and services.
• Ensure quality and consistency in loan underwriting and overall credit quality.
• Guarantee compliance with government requirements concerning eligibility, credit, servicing, and liquidation.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Five to seven years of experience as a commercial lender and/or SBA lender.
• Minimum of six to ten years of experience in SBA/government program lending.
• Five to seven years of experience in underwriting and credit.
• Extensive knowledge of real estate, commercial, and consumer lending practices, as well as credit granting criteria and applicable state and federal laws regulating lending and collection functions.
• Strong sales, organizational, communication, and public relations skills, especially in interactions with customers or potential customers.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, sales, and negotiation skills.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of banking products and services.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suites (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook).
