This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• The Director of Sales (DOS) drives sales performance through medical education, the development of the sales team, and effective inventory management.
• The DOS implements territory sales plans that align with Acumed’s mission and growth strategy, fostering and maintaining sales relationships, while also supporting product training and promotional initiatives within the designated territory.
• The DOS may oversee inventory, equipment, and materials in accordance with company policies and directives.
• Under the direction of the assigned region’s Regional Business Director (RBD), the DOS may establish and nurture new sales channel relationships through independent sales groups and/or individual contractors identified as having the potential to enhance Acumed's market share and meet sales objectives in the region.
• Regularly evaluates and analyzes the performance of independent sales channels and direct seller achievements to ensure ongoing alignment with Acumed's growth objectives.
• Collaborates directly with the RBD to set sales targets for each district within the territory; assesses these targets against current sales channel performance and may suggest adjustments, including additions or terminations to independent sales channels, to fulfill territory revenue expectations.
• Ensures all sales channel relationships are governed by a current, Compliance-approved Acumed independent sales contract, and that all standard operating procedures concerning interactions with HCP (Health Care Professionals), product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities, and required compliance and regulatory training are clearly communicated.
• Actively supports all compliance audit and reporting requirements related to independent sales channel relationships and activities.
• Provides insights and feedback on monthly and annual forecasts for the assigned regions, taking into account current sales channel trends, product mix, competitor activities, Medical Education events, and new product launches.
• Develops and maintains a high level of technical expertise regarding product lines.
• Engages in Medical Education events to bolster marketing strategies, focusing on Fellowship and Residency programs within the territory.
• Attends Local, Regional, and National industry meetings and professional exhibitions to uphold the company image and stay informed about product requirements and emerging market opportunities.
• Collaborates with the assigned Inventory Analyst to ensure that field inventory within the territory is allocated effectively to meet company inventory objectives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five years of experience in orthopedic medical device sales management.
• Proven ability to address customer product inquiries and objections in line with sales training methodologies.
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry and current trends.
• Must be available to travel (by air and road) on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated capacity to work both collaboratively and independently within a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to interact with other professionals to gather and disseminate information.
• Strong attention to detail, capability to handle time-sensitive deadlines, and aptitude for managing multiple priorities.
