Director of Project Controls

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the controls process, incorporating standards, procedures, and tools for cost, scheduling, change management, and risk assessment.

• Construct the construction controls framework based on a standard work breakdown structure and cost coding methodology.

• Design and manage the comprehensive change management process from start to finish.

• Establish a risk management framework that identifies, monitors, and associates contingencies with project risks.

• Set up purchase order and commitment monitoring in collaboration with Procurement.

• Direct budgeting, cost forecasting, and monthly financial reporting activities.

• Create an executive dashboard tailored for leadership insights.

• Define scheduling standards and oversee the critical path along with long-lead equipment management.

• Select and deploy controls tools that integrate with finance and project management systems.

• Build and lead a dedicated controls team.

• Establish standards for third-party schedulers and cost management professionals.

• Supervise and assist onsite control managers in the execution and application of the controls system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in project controls for significant capital construction projects.

• More than 5 years in a leadership position.

• Proven history of establishing a controls function or system, in addition to managing existing frameworks.

• Experience on the owner-side or as an owner's representative in data center, mission-critical, power, or heavy industrial projects.

• Strong expertise in WBS and cost coding, scheduling, change management, risk management, and forecasting methodologies.

• Proficiency in Primavera P6.

• Capability to translate project controls data into actionable insights for executives and financial teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, finance, or a related discipline.
