This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction and daily leadership for all essential operational functions at Californians Together (CalTog).

• Act as a vital thought partner to the Executive Director (ED).

• Enhance the organization’s internal framework, financial management, and human resources practices to advance CalTog’s mission and ensure its long-term viability.

• Oversee finance, human resources, administration, compliance, and organizational systems.

• Supervise 3-5 internal staff members and manage significant external partners and vendors, including an outsourced accounting firm.

• Maintain responsibility for internal decision-making, oversight, and ongoing enhancement across all operational domains.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8-10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations, finance, administration, or human resources, with substantial senior-level accountability.

• Proven success in overseeing finance and HR functions, including budget management, financial reporting, compliance, and people systems.

• Experience in managing outsourced service providers such as accounting, payroll, PEOs, HR consultants, auditors, or legal advisors.

• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, internal controls, and interpreting financial statements.

• Comprehensive knowledge of HR operations and employment compliance, with the capability to oversee systems and advise leadership, even when transactional functions are outsourced.

• Demonstrated ability to design and enhance systems in a growing or evolving organization.

• Exceptional project management and decision-making abilities.

• Strong communication skills, with the capacity to convey operational and financial information to non-operational stakeholders.

• Proven commitment to equity, inclusion, and mission-driven leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, public administration, finance, HR, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
