This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary point of contact for legal inquiries across all portfolio companies, utilizing an AI-assisted intake and triage system.

• Develop and manage the necessary infrastructure for this function, including centralized matter intake and tracking, legal playbooks, escalation protocols, and comprehensive portfolio reporting.

• Oversee the collection, organization, implementation, and ongoing management of contract templates; collaborate with senior legal leadership and specialized outside counsel on the design of substantive templates, negotiation strategies, and risk parameters.

• Assist in the creation and continuous management of an outside counsel panel, which encompasses matter routing, performance tracking, and coordination regarding pricing and engagement terms.

• Evaluate and negotiate standard vendor and customer commercial contracts in accordance with approved playbooks and escalation thresholds.

• Administer entity and subsidiary governance throughout the holding structure.

• Facilitate legal workstreams following new acquisitions, including coordinating legal intake, monitoring remediation items, and escalating significant issues to senior legal leadership and business stakeholders.

• Aid in establishing repeatable post-acquisition legal integration processes across the portfolio.

• Direct M&A, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, tax, and specialized regulatory matters (including healthcare privacy) to the appropriate outside counsel.

• Cultivate the ability to make sound judgments regarding when to escalate matters, which specialists to engage, and when issues necessitate senior legal review.

• Collaborate with HR on employment-related legal matters and ensure consistent documentation, approvals, and follow-through.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.

• 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably with significant time spent at a smaller company or an early-stage in-house function, rather than solely at a large law firm or corporate legal department.

• Comfortable working without a pre-existing process — you create the playbook rather than follow one provided to you.

• Strong instincts in commercial contracting and the discernment to identify routine matters versus those requiring outside counsel or escalation.

• A proactive approach to facilitating business operations while maintaining a clear understanding of associated risks.

• Capability to apply legal judgment across various industries simultaneously, even without extensive expertise in each regulatory framework.

🏝️ Benefits

• We provide competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package.
