Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the monthly closing process and collaborate with external accounting partners to guarantee precise and prompt financial reporting.

• Supervise the order-to-cash cycle, which includes invoicing, customer payments, collections, and revenue operations.

• Assess and authorize employee expense reports.

• Manage revenue recognition and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP standards.

• Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, and runway forecasting.

• Create financial reports, KPI dashboards, and executive summaries.

• Direct the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts across various departments.

• Develop financial models for hiring strategies, GPU and infrastructure expenditures, product initiatives, and strategic investments.

• Conduct scenario analyses and long-term planning models.

• Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategies, resource distribution, investment prioritization, and business planning.

• Prepare analyses and narratives for executives, investors, and Board meetings.

• Provide recommendations regarding growth, efficiency, margins, and capital allocation.

• Assess, select, and implement ERP and financial systems.

• Establish scalable finance processes, internal controls, policies, and automation.

• Utilize AI to enhance forecasting, reporting, and financial operations.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and leadership on company-wide initiatives.

• Act as the primary finance business partner throughout the organization.

• Assist with fundraising, investor diligence, strategic planning, and special projects.

• Balance hands-on execution with strategic leadership as both an individual contributor and functional leader.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or finance leadership within high-growth technology firms.

• Proven experience in building or scaling finance functions in startup or rapidly expanding environments.

• Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals, monthly closing, revenue recognition, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.

• Outstanding financial modeling capabilities, including investment analyses, scenario planning, operating models, and board-level reporting.

• Experience working directly with executive leadership on strategic decisions.

• Capability to oversee finance strategy and manage daily operational execution.

• Experience in evaluating and implementing ERP systems or financial technology platforms.

• Strong communication skills at the executive level.

• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach.

• Interest in AI and enthusiasm for utilizing modern AI tools for financial planning and operational decision-making.

• Ability to excel in uncertain situations and develop new processes.

• CPA, MBA, or an advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business is a plus, but not required.

• Experience at a Series A or Series B SaaS startup is an advantage.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, Workday, Adaptive Planning, Rippling, or similar ERP/FP&A platforms is beneficial.

• Experience supporting venture fundraising, investor relations, and Board reporting is advantageous.

• Understanding of SaaS metrics such as ARR, burn multiple, CAC, gross margin, and cash runway is a plus.

• Experience collaborating with engineering teams or assessing infrastructure investments is beneficial.

• Experience building finance organizations from the ground up is an added advantage.
