Director of Engineering – Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical delivery initiatives involving infrastructure, cloud, and network teams and projects.

• Develop and uphold engineering standards that align with secure architectural practices and regulatory guidelines.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to synchronize infrastructure, cloud, and network strategies with architectural, regulatory, and operational limitations.

• Identify, evaluate, and address technical and delivery risks during initiatives focused on infrastructure, cloud, network, and compliance.

• Lead and nurture a team of Managers, Team Leads, and Engineers tasked with executing and coordinating infrastructure, cloud, and network projects.

• Establish delivery standards, expectations, and escalation pathways for the Infrastructure team.

• Provide oversight for complex, high-stakes, or multi-project initiatives.

• Guide and assist engineers in delivering solutions related to infrastructure, cloud, network, and compliance.

• Cultivate a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and ongoing enhancement.

• Offer mentorship, coaching, and performance management for both Engineers and Team Leads.

• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for challenges related to infrastructure, cloud, network, and compliance delivery.

• Engage in client-facing discussions that require architectural or regulatory-aligned technical leadership.

• Supervise delivery planning, resource distribution, and execution across infrastructure, cloud, and network projects.

• Track utilization, delivery health, and execution efficiency across teams.

• Contribute to project scoping, estimation, and delivery strategy for infrastructure, cloud, and network engagements.

• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to align infrastructure, cloud, and network priorities with the broader organizational strategy.

• Monitor KPIs related to delivery quality, predictability, and execution effectiveness.

• Propel data-driven enhancements to delivery processes and outcomes.

• Ensure commitments are fulfilled and delivery standards are consistently maintained.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT leadership, technical management, or engineering delivery roles, including experience in leading managers or team leads.

• Proven experience in leading infrastructure, cloud, or network teams and projects within complex client environments.

• Deep understanding of secure architecture principles, including identity, access control, segmentation, and logging.

• Strong technical expertise in infrastructure, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), and enterprise networking.

• Working knowledge of technical requirements in regulated industries, emphasizing engineering execution.

• Experience in leading technical teams and coordinating cross-functional delivery efforts.

• Ability to convert regulatory and compliance requirements into actionable technical solutions.

• Excellent communication, escalation management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Familiarity with delivery frameworks such as ITIL, Agile, or similar methodologies.
