Director of Engineering – iCasino

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee an engineering team consisting of approximately 20 full-time engineers located in the U.S. and the U.K.

• Define the delivery strategy, operational cadence, quality benchmarks, and resource allocation.

• Take responsibility for engineering quality and reliability in customer-facing casino applications.

• Set standards for production readiness, observability, test automation strategies, and incident response protocols.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and TPM leadership to define the roadmap and facilitate iterative delivery.

• Recruit, nurture, and mentor engineering managers and senior individual contributors.

• Develop the organizational structure and talent acquisition strategy.

• Act as a representative for iCasino Experiences in cross-organizational architecture, delivery, and personnel initiatives.

• Enhance engineering practices, planning methodologies, and operational maturity.

• Address and resolve ambiguous issues that span across teams.

• Travel occasionally to various offices and locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 4 years of experience leading engineering teams through management roles.

• Demonstrated ownership of consumer-facing product experiences at scale.

• Proven experience in leading teams that develop mobile products where speed, quality, and reliability are key differentiators.

• Strong leadership skills in delivering across multiple teams.

• A record of successfully building and scaling engineering organizations.

• Experience in ensuring production reliability for customer-facing systems, including observability, on-call frameworks, incident management, and post-incident enhancements.

• Strong technical acumen across contemporary client and backend architectures.

• Capability to lead distributed teams across various time zones.

• Preferred: experience in online gaming or highly regulated sectors, particularly regarding certification and compliance processes.

• Preferred: experience in guiding high-end mobile applications and content management or personalization systems.

• Preferred: a successful history of driving cross-organizational projects.

• Preferred: experience in startup or high-growth environments.
