Director of Data Practice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the scoping, staffing, and sequencing of data initiatives across AHP’s enterprise and client-oriented portfolio.

• Manage the Data Office intake system by evaluating requests, establishing priorities, and publishing the data portfolio roadmap.

• Process AI-related data requests through the same intake framework.

• Implement the governance framework in daily operations, encompassing reporting and quality standards, definition escalations, and the cadence of Data Council decisions.

• Supervise and cultivate the Methods & Standards Lead and the Analytics & Delivery Lead.

• Perform technical reviews of the work produced by capability leads and ensure alignment in methodology and delivery.

• Act as the main liaison between the Data Office and project directors.

• Ensure that Data Office deliverables are in sync with the EPMO.

• Coordinate Data Office contributions to AI projects led by Digital Solutions.

• Lead engagement initiatives that involve direct client interaction.

• Report directly to the Chief Data Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in leading data, research, or analytics initiatives.

• Proven experience in steering complex, multi-workstream data projects to successful completion within tight deadlines.

• Strong understanding of data governance, including definitions, quality, stewardship, and the implementation of standards across teams.

• Experience in managing senior technical and methodological personnel.

• Proven ability to coordinate with executives beyond your direct reporting line.

• Practical experience with SQL, data pipelines, and cloud data warehouses.

• Familiarity with at least one statistical programming environment: R, Stata, SAS, or Python.

• Expertise in either engineering or analytics, with enough proficiency in the other domain to review work, establish standards, and assess senior professionals.

• Experience with Redshift, Databricks, and Power BI.

• Established credibility in client-facing consulting roles.

• Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Must reside and perform duties within the United States or its territories.
