Director of Data Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a Data Governance roadmap that aligns with the Enterprise Information and Governance vision.

• Review, update, and enforce the Data Management Policy and Data Governance Charter.

• Facilitate decision-making regarding data standards and resolve conflicts that arise across different functions.

• Execute Data Quality Management procedures and establish KPIs for ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

• Establish enterprise-wide data standards, focusing on metadata management, data lineage, and master data management protocols.

• Collaborate with IT and Security to ensure data pipelines are optimized for AI applications while maintaining security protocols.

• Define levels of data classification and manage policies related to access to high-risk data.

• Ensure compliance with global privacy regulations and internal governance requirements in data practices.

• Align data governance initiatives with the organization's goals and regulatory demands.

• Mentor and develop team members as the data governance capabilities expand.

• Communicate effectively and collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, visitors, and vendors.

• Adhere to relevant laws, DeepHealth policies, data privacy standards, compliance regulations, safety protocols, and confidentiality guidelines.

• Fulfill job responsibilities with high quality and within designated timelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience (required).

• 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Information Architecture within the healthcare, medical technology, or other heavily regulated sectors (required).

• Robust experience with DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and managing the data quality lifecycle (required).

• Comprehensive understanding of data profiling tools, metadata management, and concepts related to modern data stacks (required).

• Experience with AI systems in production or during product development (required).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to a variety of audiences (required).

• High degree of integrity and confidentiality (required).

• Master's degree or advanced relevant certifications (preferred).

• Willingness and capability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time.
