Director of Data Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a Data Governance roadmap that aligns with the Enterprise Information and Governance vision.

• Review, update, and enforce the Data Management Policy and Data Governance Charter to meet current regulatory and business requirements.

• Facilitate decision-making regarding data standards and assist in resolving cross-functional data discrepancies.

• Execute Data Quality Management procedures and establish KPIs to measure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

• Establish enterprise-wide data standards, encompassing metadata management, data lineage, and master data management protocols.

• Collaborate with IT and Security to ensure data pipelines are compatible with AI applications while maintaining security protocols.

• Work alongside Security to define data classification levels and oversee high-risk data access policies.

• Ensure that data practices comply with relevant global privacy regulations and internal Enterprise Information and Governance guidelines.

• Align data governance initiatives with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

• Mentor and support team members as the data governance capability evolves.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience (required).

• 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Information Architecture within the healthcare, medical technology, or another highly regulated sector (required).

• Extensive experience with DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and data quality lifecycle management (required).

• Strong understanding of data profiling tools, metadata management, and modern data stack concepts (required).

• Experience with AI systems in production or product development settings (required).

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences (required).

• High level of integrity and confidentiality (required).

• Master's degree or advanced relevant certifications (preferred).
