This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead and nurture a high-performing team across content, branding, public relations, social media, and proposals, establishing high standards for quality, empowering each individual to take ownership of their domain, and leveraging AI and emerging tools to enhance the team's efficiency and creativity.
• Create foundational systems and workflows that allow AI to amplify the team's output without compromising quality or the human insights that underpin Swiftly's thought leadership.
• Define Swiftly's brand strategy for our target audiences, establish metrics for measuring brand awareness and positioning, and formulate strategies to drive impactful results.
• Construct a narrative system that aligns the business, collaborating with Sales, Product, Customer Success, People, and the executive team, ensuring that all internal and external communications reinforce a consistent story.
• Develop a content strategy that positions Swiftly as the authoritative voice in transit technology while actively contributing to revenue objectives, balancing thought leadership with pipeline-building content developed in close collaboration with Demand Generation.
• Oversee Swiftly's brand identity in collaboration with our brand designer, evolving the visual and verbal elements as the company grows.
• Treat proposals as a critical communication platform, ensuring our RFP responses possess the same narrative strength as our marketing efforts.
• Act as a senior voice in company decisions, integrating narrative and brand insights into product development, market strategies, and overall business strategy.
• Create and implement a proactive media and thought leadership strategy, preparing leadership for significant moments: keynotes, product launches, and major initiatives.
• Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leadership, crafting executive messaging, presentations, keynote materials, and stakeholder communications.
• Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with transit agencies, industry associations, public sector leaders, and ecosystem partners to enhance Swiftly's visibility, credibility, and influence.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to support government relations, policy communications, and stakeholder engagement efforts, ensuring Swiftly's messaging aligns with the evolving priorities of the industry and public sector.
• Implement media monitoring and competitive intelligence tracking programs to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities, providing leadership with actionable insights.
• Lead crisis communications planning and readiness, developing messaging frameworks and protocols that safeguard and enhance Swiftly's reputation during critical times.
• Support company-wide communications aimed at investors and strategic partners.
• Collaborate with the Customer team to create communications that aid in retention and renewal efforts.
• 10+ years of experience in communications, corporate marketing, or branding, with leadership experience in a rapidly growing B2B SaaS or mission-driven technology organization.
• Proven track record of defining, implementing, and advancing a key reputation metric.
• Outstanding writing and storytelling abilities: capable of transforming a complex product and nuanced industry into a clear, compelling, and lasting narrative.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across content, branding, public relations, and proposals, with the ability to motivate and inspire creative professionals.
• History of thriving as a strategic partner to executives, sales teams, and product development.
• Proven experience developing messaging frameworks, narrative platforms, or positioning systems that have been successfully adopted.
• A strong perspective, a collaborative approach, a willingness to learn, and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment with enjoyable colleagues.
• Genuine enthusiasm for public transit and mission-driven work.
