This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and implement the organization's cloud software engineering strategy.
• Establish best engineering practices, coding standards, reviews, and development methodologies.
• Propel innovation in cloud-native applications and modernization projects.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, business leads, product owners, and IT business analysts to ensure alignment of technology initiatives and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Foster and sustain a high-performance engineering culture centered on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Assist with computer system validation and assurance activities alongside IT CSV and business analyst teams.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, develop, and retain multiple engineering teams and talent.
• Conduct performance evaluations, career development planning, and succession planning.
• Manage resource allocation, budgeting, vendor relationships, project prioritization, and resourcing with the ACM PMO.
• Oversee the architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable cloud applications and platforms.
• Guide the adoption of microservices, containerization, serverless computing, and API-driven architecture.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, security, compliance, governance, and operational best practices.
• Lead efforts in legacy system modernization and cloud migration.
• Drive automation across CI/CD pipelines and processes for cloud deployment.
• Provide technical leadership across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Collaborate with teams in cybersecurity, infrastructure, DevOps, QA, Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, and IT CSV.
• Monitor emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption.
• Establish metrics and KPIs for engineering productivity, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Communicate technical strategies and project statuses to executive stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in cloud software engineering.
• Over 4 years of experience leading cloud software development and related teams.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience in staff development and engagement.
• Strong background in designing and building cloud-native applications.
• Proficiency with React, Node.js, Java, Python, Azure Development Toolkit, GitHub, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server.
• Practical expertise with one or more cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with microservices architecture, Kubernetes and container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum software development teams.
• Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications are preferred qualifications.
• Base pay range of $165,000.00–$195,000.00.
• Eligibility for additional pay components.
