Director of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct and oversee daily accounting functions, which include general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, as well as month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all applicable regulations.

• Create and uphold accounting policies and procedures to guarantee effective and efficient internal controls.

• Prepare and examine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Analyze financial information and offer insights to management regarding key performance indicators and trends.

• Supervise the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other pertinent guidelines.

• Review customer contracts and evaluate the appropriate revenue recognition treatment.

• Collaborate closely with sales and legal teams to resolve revenue recognition issues.

• Manage and oversee the annual financial audit and income tax preparation activities.

• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience.

• Strong technical accounting expertise, knowledge of GAAP, and a comprehensive understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606). Experience with NetSuite is essential.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and nurture a high-performing team.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to effectively collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization.
