Director, New Business & Product Innovation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee 2-4 cross-functional teams to identify, define, develop, launch, and expand new businesses, products, and capabilities from initial concept through incubation, market introduction, post-launch growth, and handoff to the enterprise.

• In the initial phases, define problems and opportunities, create and refine hypotheses, and design analytical and delivery methods that balance learning speed with thoroughness.

• In the later phases, collaborate with enterprise delivery and go-to-market teams to effectively launch initiatives and achieve the desired customer and business results.

• Manage a diverse portfolio of strategic partnerships as necessary – such as product-capability licenses with startups, distribution agreements with commercial partners, and various cross-Allstate, cross-functional collaborations.

• Cultivate, lead, and maintain a unified, inclusive EPIC team culture, along with collaborative working methods across initiatives.

• Establish a culture that encourages bold thinking, accountability, open communication, and ongoing improvement.

• Mentor and develop teams as initiatives expand, balancing empowerment with suitable guidance, challenge, and support.

• Act as the primary liaison for senior business leaders, clearly and credibly communicating portfolio progress, risks, and outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (4 years) preferred.

• 12 or more years of relevant experience preferred.

• An MBA and/or technical degree from a prestigious institution is advantageous.

• Experience in Business or Product Development: demonstrated experience in building new products or businesses and successfully bringing them to market.

• Start-Up/High Growth Experience: roles in product, strategy & operations, and/or business development with involvement in growing and scaling businesses in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

• Consulting Experience: engagement manager or similar roles at a top-tier firm, with direct experience working with Fortune 500 C-level clients on “pure strategy” and/or “new product/business build” projects.

• Capability to rapidly familiarize oneself with unfamiliar topics that involve significant technology and data.
