This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product vision and long-term strategy, translating it into annual and quarterly objectives along with clear 'go/no-go' decision-making criteria.
• Establish and uphold the foundational 'hypotheses' that support GiveDirectly’s investment in this product (impact/value, feasibility/delivery, and growth/fundability), including the evidence that could alter our confidence.
• Create a clear roadmap that distinguishes (a) what needs to be validated, (b) what must be developed, and (c) what requires scaling—then prioritize effectively to align with the year’s objectives.
• Direct program design decisions (e.g., transfer size, timing/cadence, etc.), informed by evidence and operational realities.
• Ensure the program upholds high standards for recipient dignity, safeguarding, consent, and clarity, particularly concerning the sensitivity surrounding pregnancy and newborn outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with program teams to pinpoint discrepancies between actual outcomes and our plans, diagnose underlying issues, and swiftly implement thoughtful adaptations.
• Identify, assess, and manage key partners essential for targeting and outcomes (e.g., community health NGOs, health facilities, government health systems, digital maternal health platforms).
• Define the operating model: clarify what GiveDirectly must handle versus what partners can execute more effectively (and at a lower cost), and outline the responsibilities, incentives, data flows, and accountability structures.
• Create playbooks for recipient targeting/verification, enrollment of pregnant women, payment scheduling, troubleshooting, and issue escalation—then standardize these processes across countries as appropriate.
• Establish a concrete learning agenda and evidence narrative, ensuring the collection of 'decision-grade' evidence and presenting it in a compelling narrative for stakeholders.
• Exceptional alignment with GD values, a strong passion for our mission, and a commitment to recipient dignity and empowerment.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in a related role or function (product, programs, business development, partnerships).
• Demonstrated leadership skills and management experience in cultivating high-performing teams.
• Experience working within a distributed team in a multicultural setting.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to a growing company, with an understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with a highly adaptive environment.
• Strong and concise communication skills: adept at speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical problem solver: approaches challenges with an analytical and iterative mindset, equipped with a robust framework for prioritization.
• A positive and supportive team environment with opportunities for career advancement.
• A demonstrated commitment to the development and growth of all staff members.
• A competitive salary including bonuses.
• A comprehensive health benefits package (specific details may vary by country).
• Flexible paid time off.
• Allowances for desk setup and professional development.
