This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of the architecture, roadmap, and daily management of Step’s marketing technology ecosystem, which includes CDP, MMP, lifecycle messaging, data aggregation, and analytics tools.
• Create and implement documentation, quality assurance, governance, reliability, and privacy-compliance standards.
• Oversee relationships with marketing technology partners such as Segment, AppsFlyer, Braze, and Funnel.
• Set up, verify, and sustain paid-channel integrations with platforms like Meta, Google, TikTok, and others.
• Manage attribution and mobile measurement, focusing on SKAN/postback configuration, conversion windows, deduplication, and ensuring data quality at the channel level.
• Collaborate on GA4 implementation, event taxonomy, funnel conversion configuration, custom reporting, and incrementality analysis.
• Develop and maintain pipelines and data models to support marketing reporting, audience segmentation, and campaign measurement.
• Create self-service analytical tools, dashboards, and automations tailored for marketers.
• Lead the technical development of Step’s monthly rewards and offers program, including targeting, delivery, tracking, and post-campaign analysis.
• Assist with lifecycle and CRM campaign execution in Braze using triggers and data feeds.
• Act as the technical liaison for Marketing with Product, Engineering, and Data teams.
• Report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.
• Begin as an individual contributor with the potential to build and lead a marketing technology team.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or marketing technology, with substantial hands-on engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing a modern martech stack within a consumer company.
• Familiarity with a CDP like Segment, an MMP such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, or Branch, and lifecycle platforms like Braze.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript.
• Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures, and cloud data storage solutions.
• In-depth understanding of mobile and web attribution, including conversion APIs, SKAdNetwork, postbacks, deduplication, and incrementality.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Proven ability to operate martech at a larger scale, ideally during viral moments or campaign-driven traffic surges.
