This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete reconciliation and money movement processes, encompassing ledgering logic, payout flows, and exception management.
• Acquire an in-depth understanding of how funds traverse through the existing system — including the origin of data, its transformation, points of failure, and the reasons behind them.
• Transform a system that relies heavily on tribal knowledge into a clear, maintainable, and auditable operational model through documentation.
• Guide the architectural strategy for a long-term resolution to the post-capture payout calculation challenges, ensuring alignment with both Finance and Engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement scalable, accurate, and resilient systems for reconciliation and ledgering.
• Act as the primary liaison between Finance and Engineering — ensuring that both parties comprehend the requirements, limitations, and implications.
• Establish product requirements, a roadmap, and metrics for success concerning reconciliation and money movement systems.
• Investigate the root causes of reconciliation discrepancies and facilitate cross-functional solutions.
• Develop processes, controls, and reporting frameworks that enhance accuracy, transparency, and readiness for audits.
• Provide leadership, clarity, and direction in a domain marked by high ambiguity and complexity.
• Director-level experience in financial systems, payments technology, or a comparable field.
• Strong background in accounting and finance — with an ability to comprehend ledgers, settlement flows, and reconciliation logic.
• Profound understanding of the movement of money through technical systems (capture → settlement → payout → ledgering).
• Experience in designing or managing financial or payment system architecture.
• Capability to diagnose system-level challenges, pinpoint failure points, and guide engineering towards sustainable solutions.
• Outstanding communication skills — able to engage credibly with both Finance and Engineering and facilitate translation between the two.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives characterized by high ambiguity and significant business impact.
• Strong documentation skills and the ability to convert tribal knowledge into structured, repeatable processes.
• Familiarity with payout systems, settlement engines, or payment processors is a plus. (Nice-to-Have)
• Experience in building or modernizing ledgering systems is a plus. (Nice-to-Have)
• Knowledge of financial compliance, audit requirements, or SOX-related controls is a plus. (Nice-to-Have)
• Product management experience in financial or payments platforms is a plus. (Nice-to-Have)
