Director, Learning Delivery Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the solutions architect for the organization’s learning delivery platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, accessible, performant, and provide excellent user experiences.

• Develop and uphold a multi-year technology roadmap for learning delivery systems, aligning it with the organizational strategy and the requirements of various business lines.

• Direct architectural decisions for cloud-based and integrated learning platforms, involving build-versus-buy analyses, APIs, identity/access management, CRM integration, data flows, analytics, security, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost considerations.

• Oversee the design, implementation, configuration, and administration of learning delivery platforms and their supporting services.

• Manage the scope, schedule, resources, budget, and risks associated with platform releases, enhancements, and operational improvements.

• Oversee relationships and contracts with third-party software vendors, ensuring value, accountability, and compliance with organizational standards.

• Supervise a team consisting of 3 direct reports, fostering a safe and inclusive team environment and promoting employee growth and development through regular coaching, guidance, and feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in software development, application delivery, and systems integration.

• Experience working directly with or leading development teams on cloud-based platforms, rather than just administering or configuring them.

• Experience in designing and spearheading the ground-up development of at least one custom LMS or learning platform from architecture to deployment.

• Extensive understanding of e-learning standards (SCORM, xAPI/Tin Can, LTI, AICC) as they are implemented in software, including how these standards are integrated within a platform.

• Familiarity with multiple LMS platforms and the ability to leverage that cross-platform knowledge to influence architectural decisions and platform strategy.

• Experience in guiding architectural decisions for cloud-based platforms on AWS (or equivalent), encompassing APIs, data flows, security, scalability, reliability, and cost considerations.

• Over 7 years of experience in delivering and/or technically leading enterprise software products, digital platforms, or SaaS-based ecosystems.

• More than 5 years of experience leading high-performing teams, including direct management of personnel.

• At least 3 years of experience in product management, product strategy, or platform ownership (including roadmap creation, prioritization, and stakeholder management).
