Director – Indigenous Initiatives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic guidance to enhance the organization's dedication to reconciliation, Indigenous inclusion, cultural safety, and equitable service access.

• Cultivate respectful and reciprocal relationships with Indigenous communities.

• Promote collaboration and consultation with Indigenous partners in the design, execution, and assessment of programs.

• Act as the organization's representative in community forums and activities focused on reconciliation.

• Analyze utilization, access, and outcome data to detect disparities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A post-secondary degree in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Personal experience as an Indigenous individual and/or a profound, proven connection to Indigenous communities.

• Proven knowledge and comprehension of Indigenous communities in Canada.

• Between 8 to 10 years of cumulative experience in Indigenous engagement, health, social services, equity, reconciliation, or community development.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience.

• Outstanding communication abilities, including skills in intercultural communication.
