This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead Cambiar’s IT and Security strategy, roadmap, vendor partnerships, and compliance efforts.
• Create and maintain a detailed registry of applications, data flows, and integrations.
• Identify risks in systems, redundancies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Assess technology usage, costs, and security posture to minimize duplication and enhance interoperability.
• Develop and execute cybersecurity policies and practices aligned with SOC 2 and other pertinent frameworks.
• Establish and supervise secure cloud, network, and application architectures.
• Manage data classification, backup and retention processes, and incident response strategies.
• Implement scalable workflows for joiner/mover/leaver processes and uphold least-privilege, role-based access principles.
• Oversee IT vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with SLAs and DPAs.
• Direct device management, identity and access management, and network security initiatives.
• Provide guidance to incubated ventures on IT infrastructure, security practices, and compliance matters.
• Promote organization-wide cybersecurity awareness and shared accountability for data protection.
• Lead assessments and audits related to risk management and compliance, along with training initiatives.
• Monitor metrics, manage audits, and communicate IT/security performance and emerging risks to leadership and the board.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, data, partner teams, and external vendors.
• 10+ years of experience in IT operations, cybersecurity, or technology risk management.
• Practical experience in executing and managing IT systems and cybersecurity software and processes, including IAM, MDM, RBAC, and pentesting.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO, or similar standards.
• Experience in partnering with external vendors and developing internal capacity and scalable IT processes.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics into accessible, actionable insights.
• High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive; capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering results independently.
• Demonstrated success in building secure, efficient, and people-centered systems.
• Experience in education, nonprofit, or social impact organizations is advantageous.
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across different time zones.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm, with flexibility based on workload, calls, and meetings.
