This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead personalized investment consulting engagements that concentrate on portfolio construction, asset allocation, downside risk management, implementation efficiency, and effective advisor communication.
• Evaluate advisor portfolios to uncover concentration risk, style drift, hidden overlaps, recency bias, inappropriate weightings, and inadequate downside protection.
• Convert portfolio analysis into actionable recommendations customized to each advisor’s platform, client base, philosophy, and business constraints.
• Provide advisors with compelling portfolio narratives for client and prospect interactions.
• Develop and sustain referral relationships with wholesaler colleagues.
• Assess advisors for the program and maintain an active pipeline of consulting opportunities.
• Assist with occasional branch visits, dealer events, conferences, and internal presentations.
• Collaborate with Manulife Investments wholesalers, investment specialists, and distribution teams to identify advisor opportunities, generate referrals, and enhance the reach of the consulting program.
• Uphold administrative discipline to ensure that engagements are conducted at a consistently high standard.
• CFA, CIM, or an equivalent advanced investment designation is highly preferred; CAIA, CIMA, or FRM are regarded as strong assets.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment consulting, portfolio analytics, asset management, or a similar investment-focused position.
• Comprehensive understanding of modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, risk management, and fixed income across major asset classes.
• Strong familiarity with mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, model portfolios, and alternative investments.
• Demonstrated ability to translate portfolio analytics into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional skills in communication, facilitation, and relationship building.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with tools such as Morningstar, YCharts, Jacobi/Second Engine, or similar platforms is considered beneficial.
• Fully bilingual in French and English.
• A university degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
