This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Provide strategic executive leadership for business development and growth initiatives within the Airborne & Mission Solutions Business Area.
• Collaborate with the VP of Growth for Airborne & Mission Solutions and senior leadership to establish and implement short- and long-term growth strategies that align with customer priorities, technical roadmaps, and enterprise goals.
• Oversee senior-level customer relationship management and engagement strategies to ensure strong alignment between customer requirements, line management, and solution architects.
• Work in partnership with Business Area leadership and the CTO to create and refine growth strategies connected to technology investments, IR&D priorities, and new and adjacent market opportunities.
• Promote disciplined pipeline development, opportunity prioritization, bid decision-making, and investment alignment to optimize returns and enhance the probability of win (PWin).
• Assist the capture team with proposal execution for significant, strategic opportunities, ensuring the delivery of compelling, compliant, and differentiated proposals from a customer-centric viewpoint.
• Conduct executive-level reviews of opportunities and proposals, focusing on evaluation criteria, competitive positioning, and message clarity.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a high-performing business development team, encompassing talent development, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Provide executive oversight of B&P, IR&D, and other discretionary investments while assessing their impact on growth objectives.
• Forecast, monitor, and report on the growth performance of the Business Area against annual and multi-year objectives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the VP of Growth regarding opportunity pursuits, gate reviews, investment decisions, and growth risks.
• Evaluate and support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships to enhance market presence and capabilities.
• Identify current and future staffing requirements and assist in recruiting efforts to ensure the organization is positioned for sustained growth.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field.
• Over 20 years of relevant experience, including leadership positions.
• More than 15 years of progressive experience in business development, capture, and growth leadership.
• Established executive relationships with senior military leaders and government clients across the DoD Services and Combatant Commands.
• Extensive understanding of customer missions, acquisition organizations, and funding priorities.
• Proven access to key government customers and industry partners.
• A successful track record of leading and securing large, complex, and highly competitive captures and proposals.
• Demonstrated capability to develop and execute multi-year growth strategies at the portfolio or business area level.
