This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develops and executes business development strategies for HHS, DOW, and affiliated government agencies to foster growth in bookings within the federal market and enhance Ginkgo’s brand visibility and influence among government clients.
• Oversees the sales process for Ginkgo's automation products and services (RACs and RAC software) targeting wet labs within U.S. government agencies, with a particular focus on HHS and DOW.
• Create compelling white papers, proposals, and presentations tailored for Government leadership, emphasizing the value proposition of Ginkgo’s comprehensive lab automation service products and Solutions and Datapoints services.
• Identify and cultivate business opportunities with HHS, DOW, and other OneHealth-oriented government agencies, as well as leading private sector entities focused on government, through both collaborative efforts and direct sales, concentrating on top-of-the-funnel activities.
• Direct Gov-funded pharmaceutical pipeline development and management initiatives.
• Analyze intricate decision-making processes to uncover funding and award patterns.
• Establish a foundational set of strategic partnerships with industry, academic, and nonprofit organizations.
• Provide insights and feedback to technical teams to aid in the development of new services/offerings and enhancements to automation product features based on customer input.
• Collaborate with Ginkgo’s U.S. Government partners to identify and define new project opportunities where Ginkgo can serve as a valuable collaborator.
• Work with partners to grasp their program objectives and desired capabilities, including automation needs, ensuring this context is integrated into Ginkgo’s project planning and execution.
• Align business development activities with U.S. Government solicitations such as RFPs, BAAs, FOAs, etc.
• Represent the customer’s voice during the development and review of proposals.
• Assist in the creation of technical proposal materials, ensuring the customer's needs are effectively addressed.
• Participate in proposal development activities, including writing content and engaging in reviews.
• Identify complementary partners, collaborators, and technologies, and forge teaming relationships with them.
• Collaborate across Ginkgo to ensure alignment throughout the business development process, while overseeing and tracking project progress to guarantee high-quality and timely deliverables.
• Work with Ginkgo’s executive leadership and senior management team to establish the company's strategic objectives for its U.S. Government HHS and DOW initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in U.S. Government business development and acquisition.
• Knowledge of the biotechnology sector and its applications, along with an understanding of HHS and DOW contracting and decision-making processes.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government acquisition regulations, processes, and budgeting protocols.
• Proven technical aptitude for innovative, complex, and disruptive products and services.
• Experience with intricate deal structures.
• Passion for advancing Ginkgo’s mission to simplify the engineering of biology.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, mobilizing individuals across the organization, and adapting quickly to thrive in a dynamic environment.
