• Develop and take ownership of a detailed business plan for government and defense that aligns with national priorities concerning advanced manufacturing, supply chain resilience, and platform modernization.
• Identify and cultivate opportunities within the Department of War (DoW), with a keen focus on delivering essential capabilities to our warfighters.
• Establish and sustain a pipeline that includes SBIRs/STTRs, OTAs, and various other contract types.
• Act as Continuous Composites’ primary liaison to DoW program offices, service acquisition organizations, congressional defense committees, and partners within the defense industry.
• Foster trusted relationships with senior military officials, acquisition experts, and policymakers.
• Convert warfighter requirements, mission objectives, and program limitations into actionable development priorities for the engineering team.
• Collaborate closely with applications engineers and materials scientists to align customer interactions with technical realities and ensure the success of demonstration programs.
• Lead the development of proposals for government contracts, including white papers, technical volumes, cost estimates, and oral presentations.
• Oversee capture processes, which include competitive analysis, win strategy formulation, and partnership decisions.
• Clearly articulate the strategic rationale for CF3D® concerning defense manufacturing modernization, supply chain resilience, and revitalization of the industrial base.
• Create white papers, policy briefs, and thought leadership pieces that position Continuous Composites as a vital component of the defense industrial base.
• Ultimately responsible for increasing defense revenue, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of the client base, awareness of programmatic and technical roadmaps, monitoring purchasing cycles, and a relentless pursuit of converting relationships and technology demonstrations into funded programs.
• Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, directly contributing to product and market strategy for hypersonics, high-temperature composites, and advanced manufacturing applications.
• Over 10 years of combined experience in military service, the defense sector, government, or defense-oriented business development.
• Profound understanding of DoD acquisition processes, including the PPBE cycle, Defense Acquisition System, OTA authorities, and SBIR/STTR programs.
• A well-established network within DoD service branches, acquisition commands, and relevant customers.
• Proven ability to craft and implement capture strategies for government contracts, achieving competitive victories in a technology-centric environment.
• A successful history of building a defense business line or significantly expanding defense revenue—you have developed pipelines rather than merely managed them.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills—you can produce compelling white papers, deliver confident presentations to general officers, and translate complex technologies into mission value.
