This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Design and spearhead the organization’s environmental sustainability and climate strategy, ensuring it aligns with corporate objectives and adheres to global best practices.
• Leverage data analytics to monitor environmental performance, pinpoint risks and opportunities, and facilitate informed strategic decision-making.
• Inform senior management and other key stakeholders on sustainability matters, effectively advocating for strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and industry standards, while overseeing the creation of sustainability reports and disclosures.
• Actively pursue opportunities to advance the company’s sustainability initiatives, introducing innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.
• Formulate and administer budgets for sustainability projects, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Determine relevant sustainability metrics; track, measure, and analyze inputs, outputs, and impacts for both internal and external reporting.
• Develop and execute a decarbonization roadmap to meet Cencora’s science-based carbon reduction targets and enhance supplier engagement.
• Lead U.S. and global decarbonization working groups, promoting cross-functional collaboration to achieve sustainability goals.
• Drive the organization’s global renewable energy procurement strategy.
• Create and implement approaches to minimize resource consumption, energy use, pollution, and waste.
• Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve outstanding sustainability results and foster strong partnerships.
• Provide guidance on global sustainability best practices, collaborating with key partners across Cencora’s various sectors.
• Draft and enforce globally applicable sustainability guidelines and policies.
• Cultivate partnerships across the enterprise to align sustainability objectives with shared business goals, including operations, HR, PR, government affairs, and investor relations.
• Monitor sustainability regulations and related issues, effectively communicating pertinent changes to ensure compliance.
• Oversee the processes for CDP and TCFD submissions and manage annual data collection.
• Collaborate with the business resilience team on climate-related risk assessments and integrate findings into business continuity planning.
• Function effectively with limited resources, demonstrating initiative and taking action with minimal supervision.
• Supervise and mentor direct reports, optimizing team resources and enhancing performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field; an advanced degree is advantageous.
• At least 7-10+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, showcasing proven leadership capabilities.
• Familiarity with CDP, SBTi, TCFD, and GHG reporting protocols is preferred.
