📋 Description

• Accountable for the guidance, coordination, implementation, oversight, and execution of the USMA and HSO payor and access strategy related to specific cancers and assets, ensuring alignment with global medical and commercial strategies, commitments, and objectives.

• Directs the US HSO integrated Field Medical (FM) planning process in partnership with the US HSO Executive Director (US HSO ED), US HSO Sr. Director PASL, US HSO Team Leads, and additional members from global and regional cross-functional teams.

• Formulates and directs payor and access strategies that align with organizational priorities and address unmet needs.

• Gathers, analyzes, and disseminates scientific insights from field engagements conducted by the US HSO Medical Affairs Director (MAD) to guide company strategies throughout our Research and Development Division/V&I, which encompasses Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (GMSA) and Outcomes Research (OR), as well as Commercial.

• Leads the US Payor Access Team (US PAT) to assist in prioritizing US gaps/needs assessments, developing value evidence strategies, and creating tactical plans for global V&I annual planning contributions (e.g., one-pagers, V&I and CMAP plans).

• Acts as the US Health Systems Oncology liaison between GMSA, Commercial, and other pertinent headquarters (HQ) functions, alongside the US HSO Team.

• Identifies and prioritizes US HSO field resources, training requirements, and activities across the oncology portfolio to enhance HSO MAD Field Team preparedness.

• Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to define and implement strategic congress priorities for USHSO and coordinates the planning of HSO MAD activities at significant scientific congresses.

• Continuously monitors the healthcare environment and quality landscape to evaluate emerging trends in the oncology therapeutic and competitive landscape, as well as market access, to optimize US Field HSO Team capabilities.

• Represents USMA HSO, in collaboration with GMSA, at Expert Input Forums or Advisory Boards, as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of an advanced healthcare/science degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD).

• Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with Field Medical experience or equivalent strategy experience in biotech/pharmaceutical/Medical Affairs, specifically within oncology, or over 5 years of experience in quality/managed care/cancer center settings demonstrating oncology scientific expertise, or a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP)/Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) with 5+ years of clinical experience in a cancer center, or equivalent.

• Proven ability to develop and execute a strategic plan.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, networking, and results-oriented project management skills.

• Comprehensive understanding of clinical medicine, the structure and function of the US healthcare delivery system, pharmacoeconomics, population health management, quality management, value-based payment, and healthcare delivery policies and trends.

• Demonstrated capacity to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed environment that promotes inclusion, builds trust, and respects others.

• Ability to network and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, scientific leaders, and key decision-makers.

• In-depth knowledge of national and society treatment guidelines, clinical research protocols, FDA regulations, and compliance with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations pertinent to the pharmaceutical industry and its external stakeholder environment.
