
Director, Gas Asset Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Act as the primary owner for the efficiency of Divert's biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) assets across all operational facilities.
• Oversee the enterprise strategy for gas management and RNG assets, encompassing gas collection, compression, upgrading, CO2 removal, gas quality, pipeline injection, flares, analyzers, and related utility systems.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and Maintenance to enhance RNG performance by establishing enterprise standards for operation, maintenance, commissioning, critical spare parts, preventive maintenance, operational procedures, and asset documentation.
• Set and monitor performance metrics and benchmarks across all operational facilities, recognizing trends and disseminating best practices throughout the organization.
• Create the long-term roadmap for gas asset performance, including lifecycle planning, equipment standardization, technology selection, and capital improvement suggestions.
• Lead investigations into root causes of significant production losses and equipment failures, coordinating both internal teams and external partners to implement lasting corrective measures and ensure vendor accountability for performance, warranty, and service quality.
• Supervise external engineering resources that support operational facilities, ensuring that work is appropriately scoped, technically viable, and aligned with Divert's enterprise standards.
• Assess emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending investments that enhance asset performance, lower lifecycle costs, and improve operational flexibility.
• Assist in new facilities and major capital projects by evaluating equipment selections and designs for operability, maintainability, standardization, and integration of lessons learned from existing operational facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field.
• Over 10 years of experience in supporting, operating, maintaining, optimizing, or commissioning industrial gas handling, RNG, biogas, or similar process facilities.
• Proven track record of enhancing operational performance across multiple facilities.
• Experience in influencing cross-functional organizations without direct authority.
• Background in managing OEMs, engineering consultants, specialty contractors, and technology vendors.
• Strong comprehension of industrial asset management, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and lifecycle planning.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and business acumen with the capability to translate technical challenges into operational and capital priorities.
