Director, Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse global team comprising managers, software engineers, and architects.

• Direct the technical roadmap for the Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform.

• Ensure the platform is highly scalable, resilient, and optimized for global, low-latency authorization.

• Supervise the complete software development lifecycle.

• Confirm that the code adheres to high standards of quality, safety, and performance.

• Collaborate with various teams to convert business objectives into tangible technical milestones.

• Guide the engineering strategy, architecture, and execution of Akamai's IAM platform.

• Expand a high-performing, globally distributed engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15 years of pertinent experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Significant experience in leading large, distributed software engineering teams.

• Proven history of delivering innovative software products.

• In-depth knowledge of the IAM ecosystem.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Demonstrated success in aligning remote, global teams.
