Director – Educational Content and Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Inform and execute NKF’s cohesive education strategy targeting both patient and professional audiences.

• Support competency-based learning pathways, digital educational products, patient-centric curricula, and programs aimed at practice transformation.

• Act as a clinical authority influencing content priorities, partnerships, and program innovations.

• Oversee educational products from needs assessment and design through to development, launch, and evaluation.

• Direct the creation of modular learning, active learning modalities, toolkits, case-based learning, webinars, infographics, and various other formats.

• Provide clinical oversight to ensure that content adheres to current standards, guidelines, and best practices.

• Collaborate with KDOQI staff, scientific advisors, clinicians, and patient contributors to validate educational materials.

• Identify emerging trends and knowledge gaps within kidney care and related specialties.

• Work in collaboration with NKF teams and external partners to synchronize messaging and learning priorities.

• Cultivate relationships with industry and external partners while supporting funding for educational and content initiatives.

• Represent NKF at national meetings, advisory groups, and educational collaboratives.

• Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for initiatives funded by grants or supported by industry.

• Lead process improvements to boost quality, efficiency, and learner engagement.

• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure knowledge, competency, and behavioral changes.

• Utilize analytics, user testing, and qualitative feedback to enhance content and inform decision-making.

• Ensure that professional education content complies with CE/MOC accreditation requirements where applicable.


⛳️ Requirements

• A required clinical degree or training, such as RN, NP, PA, RD, PharmD, MD/DO, or a related discipline.

• 3–5 years of clinical experience; nephrology is preferred, or substantial experience in diabetes, cardiology, primary care, or chronic disease management.

• Proficiency in adult-learning principles, instructional design frameworks, and curriculum development.

• Ability to simplify complex clinical concepts into accessible educational content for diverse audiences.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

• Exceptional skills in organization, time management, communication, writing, and strategic thinking.

• Strong technical proficiency, including the use of collaborative documents, shared folders, messaging platforms, and remote work technologies.

• Preferred: experience in overseeing educational programs within healthcare, nonprofit, academic, or professional society settings.

• Preferred: familiarity with digital learning platforms, LMS systems, and multimedia content development.

• Preferred: experience with guidelines, evidence synthesis, or quality improvement initiatives.

• Preferred: knowledge of kidney disease, CKD management, transplantation, dialysis, or informatics.

• Preferred: previous experience as a peer reviewer or on an editorial advisory board.

• Unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness, with a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism.

• Capability to maintain effectiveness under pressure.

• Proficiency in using standard office equipment, including telephones, personal computers, fax machines, and photocopiers.

• Flexibility for moderate overnight travel for business, potentially involving weekends.
