Director, Education and Certification

📋 Description

• Oversee MRC’s global education portfolio, which encompasses professional development programs, digital learning, certification, and the management of learning systems and partnerships.

• Develop the education strategy and convert organizational priorities into a comprehensive annual education plan.

• Drive strategic initiatives and manage the performance of the education team.

• Supervise courses, webinars, workshops, learning paths, certification, and various professional development offerings.

• Assess portfolio opportunities, prioritize investments, and modify the roadmap in response to member needs, industry trends, and performance metrics.

• Represent the education sector in executive planning and provide the CEO with insights on performance, priorities, risks, and growth opportunities.

• Manage program design, delivery, maintenance, continuous improvement, instructional quality, engagement with subject matter experts, assessment integrity, accessibility, learner experience, and evaluation.

• Ensure that certification offerings remain up-to-date, credible, and compliant with accreditation standards, industry benchmarks, and regional requirements.

• Oversee the learning management system and related educational technologies, ensuring data integrity, reporting, integrations, and learner support.

• Manage the education budget and forecasts; track revenue, expenses, participation, satisfaction, adoption rates, and overall portfolio performance.

• Establish KPIs and utilize outcomes to enhance program quality, portfolio diversity, operational efficiency, and financial viability.

• Identify revenue-generating opportunities, including partnerships, sponsorships, and product development.

• Allocate team capacity and external resources while managing projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.

• Supervise the Senior Program Manager, Certification, and Instructional Designer; set performance expectations, coach their development, and support their professional advancement.

• Cultivate a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative education team.

• Create clarity in roles, development plans, succession strategies, and effective working methods.

• Collaborate with Membership, Events, Marketing, Technology, Finance, and other departments.

• Establish relationships with subject matter experts, industry partners, sponsors, and external stakeholders.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives impacting education strategy or delivery and manage trade-offs effectively.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in education, learning and development, certification, program management, or a related area.

• Proficiency in managing complex portfolios or significant programs.

• Proven experience in people management, including coaching, performance management, and development of direct reports.

• Experience in strategy formulation and budget management.

• Ability to utilize program and financial data to drive decisions and enhance performance.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms, learning management systems, instructional design methodologies, and educational technology.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in leading certification programs, accreditation or credentialing processes, association education, or professional learning.

• Exceptional judgment, communication, and relationship management skills.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively with executive leaders, internal teams, members, and external partners.

• Preferred knowledge in payments, e-commerce, fraud prevention, financial services, or a related industry.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% as necessary.

• Adherence to international safety protocols is required.

• Employees traveling for business must be fully vaccinated as per the entry requirements of the relevant state or country.
