This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Build, lead, coach, and retain a high-performing engineering organization consisting of 1-4 scrum teams.
• Cultivate a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, innovation, quality craftsmanship, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Set clear expectations, monitor the health of the organization, and ensure the team possesses the necessary skills, capacity, and engagement to achieve business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with other IT leaders to ensure that platforms, integrations, and services align with enterprise standards for security, reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Take ownership of the delivery of the ecommerce engineering roadmap, ensuring the strategic initiatives, releases, operational priorities, and production support are executed predictably.
• Manage priorities, dependencies, risks, resources, and release readiness while enhancing delivery quality, transparency, and predictability.
• Continuously enhance engineering operational practices, including Agile delivery, SDLC, QA, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, incident response, and operational support.
• Establish and track KPIs to evaluate team and stack performance, utilizing data-driven insights for informed decision-making.
• Provide technical leadership across ecommerce applications, integrations, architecture, and initiatives for platform modernization.
• Set engineering standards that encourage scalability, maintainability, extendability, and performance.
• Ensure the availability, scalability, security, and performance of customer-facing ecommerce platforms.
• Collaborate with various teams to convert business strategies into technological execution.
• Assess emerging technologies to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experience, engineering productivity, and business performance.
• Manage strategic relationships with technology vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers.
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing software engineering organizations.
• Extensive experience in delivering customer-facing ecommerce platforms and digital commerce solutions.
• Strong comprehension of modern ecommerce architectures, including headless or composable commerce platforms, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, APIs, cloud technologies, integrations, and microservices.
• Experience in integrating ecommerce platforms with payment, merchandising, product and pricing/promotion systems, CRM, OMS, fulfillment, and customer engagement technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of Agile delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, software quality, observability, security, and engineering best practices.
• Experience utilizing AI-enabled engineering tools and automation to enhance software delivery, quality, and operational effectiveness.
• Demonstrated ability to balance business priorities, customer experience, delivery speed, technical quality, operational risk, and cost.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience managing technology vendors, budgets, consulting partners, contracts, and strategic technology investments.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be taken into account.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including experience with enterprise ecommerce platforms.
• 5+ years of experience in leading engineering teams, managers, or technical organizations.
• Experience in retail, direct-to-consumer, apparel, consumer products, or similar digital commerce environments is preferred.
• Strongly preferred experience in leading platform modernization, enterprise systems integration, or digital transformation initiatives.
