Director, Data Center Business Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the business development strategy for data center markets throughout North America, encompassing hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI data centers.

• Identify, evaluate, and cultivate significant, intricate opportunities involving power, grid, cooling, digital, and infrastructure solutions.

• Foster strategic partnerships and alliances with clients, EPCs, developers, and technology ecosystem partners.

• Coordinate and lead collaborative efforts across multiple Hitachi business units to provide integrated solutions.

• Oversee senior-level customer interactions, including executive briefings, workshops, and strategic alignment sessions.

• Assist in the formulation of go-to-market strategies, value propositions, and solution positioning for data center clients.

• Manage the opportunity pipeline, facilitate deal structuring, and collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and delivery teams.

• Represent Hitachi at industry conferences, customer forums, and executive-level events.

• Supply market intelligence and customer insights to guide product strategy and investment priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategy within the data centers, power infrastructure, energy, or digital sectors.

• Comprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure, including power systems, grid interconnection, cooling, digital platforms, and resiliency.

• Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

• Capability to function effectively within matrixed, global organizations.

• Strong skills in executive communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
